Pakistan Tunneling and Trenchless Society (PTTS) organized Symposium of Young Tunneller’s of Asia (SYTA) 2024 at the art-of-state Tunneling Institute of Pakistan on November 11, 2024.

Established by International Tunnelling and Underground Space Association (ITA) during WTC 2019, SYTA provides a dynamic platform for young educators and professionals across the ASIA to exchange ideas, discuss advancements, collaborate and address challenges in tunneling and underground engineering.

Pakistan proudly hosted the SYTA-2024 in hybrid format after the successful editions in Malaysia (2020), India (2021), and China (2022).

Engineers from various leading  academic institutions such as NUST, UET Lahore, Quaid-e-Azam University, University of Malakand, NUTEC, and BUITEMS, along with representatives from key industry organizations including FWO, NHA, WAPDA, MMP, NESPAK, and Capital Smart City attended the symposium.

The one-day event featured:

• Opening Session: Keynotes by the President of ITA and Vice President of the Pakistan Tunneling and Trenchless Society (PTTS).
• Technical Sessions: A mix of physical and virtual presentations from young professionals and industry experts.
• Networking Break: Lunch and engagement at the exhibition area.
• TIP Visit: A guided tour of the Tunnelling Institute of Pakistan for guests and students.

Organizing SYTA-2024 marks a significant achievement for PTTS, reflecting the dedicated and collaborative efforts to promote knowledge and advancements in tunneling and underground space in Pakistan.
